Private Landowner (CFM) Program

Private Landowner Assistance Cooperative Forest Management (CFM)

MWV's Cooperative Forest Management (CFM®) private landowner assistance program provides family forest landowners with sustainable forest management advice, including: a professional forest management plan, assistance in locating suitable contractors, information regarding timber sales, help with American Tree Farm System certification, timber marking and improved seedlings.

In South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, the family forest owners enrolled in our CFM program are group-certified to the standards of the American Tree Farm System, a forest certification system used to recognize well-managed, privately owned forests.

There are currently 1,744 U.S. family forest landowners enrolled in CFM, representing 1,017,164 acres of forestland. There are 520 family forest landowners in our Fomento Florestal program in Brazil, representing 30,180 acres of forestland.
