Micro-surfacing is a liquid mixture of fine-graded aggregate of varying degrees of coarseness and an asphalt emulsion containing polymers, inorganic fillers and additives.  Micro-surfacing must always contain polymers and has typical traffic times of 30 minutes to one hour.
