Our manufacturing plant in Wuxi, in the east-central region of China, places a state-of-the-art packaging facility at the heart of the country’s most affluent region.
Located near Shanghai, the Wuxi facility gives MWV an advantageous platform for capturing consumer-market opportunities within this emerging economy—and beyond. It also provides close access to the port of Shanghai, China’s largest international port.
The Wuxi facility was completed and started operations in late 2007, supplying our customers with a broad range of packaging products and solutions including pumps, trigger sprayers and plastic and paper cartons. The facility encompasses 467,046 square feet, including an expanded Calmar operation and our first Consumer Solutions Group (CSG) plant in China. As we extend our global footprint with Wuxi, we enhance our ability to serve the high production volumes and turnaround speeds required by our customers in the region. Packaging systems, advanced technology, innovative material and structure designs allow us to meet the needs of our multinational and local customers with consistent and superior packaging solutions around the globe. Wuxi customers include SC Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Anheuser-Busch, Mengniu and Blue Moon.
Today, the Wuxi plant employs more than 400 employees and is positioned in the center of Asia’s growing economy and dynamic consumer marketplace — a cornerstone of our long-term commitment to China and to the success of our customers in these rapidly growing markets.
